Interested in getting a Stinson Library card?

We’d love to share our resources!

Library cards are free to those who live in our library service area.  To get a library card, you must live in the Stinson Memorial Public Library District, be in good standing with the library, and have a form of ID verifying your address.

Check your address and see which library you should visit to register for a library card!

In Illinois, you must get your library card in the Library District you live in. The good thing is, that you can use your card at most libraries in Illinois!

If you live in an area that is not served by a library you may be eligible for a Non-Resident card at the closest library located near your address.

Applying for a library must be completed in person in order for you to have a card number issued to your account. Visit Stinson Library or Cobden Branch Library to fill out an application.

You will need a Driver’s License, ID, Rental Agreement, or Utility bill with your current address to verify your residency.

Minors under the age of 18 must be registered by a parent or guardian to get their own library card.

Please reach out if you need assistance or are unable to visit the library in person and we can see how we can help!

Library cards expire after 3 years. To renew your card in person you will need a Driver’s License, ID, Rental Agreement, or Utility bill with your current address to verify your residency.

If you live in an area that is not served by a library you can get a Non-Resident card. Search your address and find out which library is closest to you!

If you live in the area surrounding Union County or you live in an unserved area and work in Union County you are eligible for a Non-Resident Card at Stinson Memorial Public Library District.

All applications and renewals must be completed in person at Stinson Memorial Library or Cobden Branch Library.

Non-Resident cards cost $75 per household and must be renewed annually. Cash or check only.

We’ve waived the fee for minors! Those under 18 years old are eligible for a personal card for free! The card will need to be renewed annually.
