As the sun shines brighter and the days grow longer, we invite readers of all ages to embark on a literary adventure that promises fun, learning, and community connection. Whether you’re a young explorer delving into magical realms, a teen uncovering thrilling mysteries, or an adult seeking to expand your horizons, our program has something special for everyone. Pre-Registration begins on Friday, May 24 and will be active throughout the SRP program. Visit Stinson or Cobden Branch Library to fill out a paper registration form. Online registration is now closed.
Pick the right weekly session for you!
Sessions are planned with participants in mind! It is important you stick to your right age group to get the most from SMPLD’s Summer Reading Program.
Babies and Toddlers – Meet on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.
Pre-k through 4th grade – Have sessions on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m., 11:15 a.m., or 1:00 p.m.
5th through 8th graders – Gather on Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m.
Want a cool SRP 2024 T-Shirt? Make sure to order in person by Monday, June 10!
T-shirt orders will be ready for pickup around the last week of June or the beginning of July!

Adults and Teens enjoy a challenge? Complete a SRP Bingo Card, remember only one book per category!

June 25 – Meet Smokey the Bear with the Shawnee National Forest Service at 11 a.m.
June 28 – Fun Friday Ice Cream Social at Downtown Cobden Park at 10:30 a.m.
July 4 – Library Closed in observance of Independence Day
July 12 – Fun Friday Outdoor Adventures with the Cache River Disc Golf Club at Downtown Cobden Park at 10:30 a.m.
July 18 – Extreme Weather with Storm Science at 5:00 p.m. For all ages.
July 19 – Fun Friday Finale Party at Downtown Cobden Park at 10:30 a.m.
July 19 – The Mighty Oaks of Illinois with U of I Extension at 11:00 a.m.
July 31 – Summer Reading Finale at Anna City Pool at 6:00 p.m.
