This is my first time doing it and I couldn’t log in. 🙁 Good question! You may need to confirm that your library card is linked to our digital resources first. This can be done at the circulation desk at our main branch in Anna. I’d guess that this is what the problem is. After that, logging into the online catalog requires you to input your library card number without spaces (2018300xxxxxxx) and use the last four digits as a password (i.e. if a card barcode is 20183001234567 the password would be 4567). Note to future readers of this comment: patrons who got their library cards after June 2015 will have a different prefix on their card numbers. Rather than 2018300xxxxxxx it will be something along the lines of 229060000xxxxx Search for the item you are interested in by name, author, or other pertinent information, and click the “Request it” button on the right side of the screen. I hope this helps, and I’m sorry for the late late reply! Stinson Library is a great example what a Library should be about. Thank you for the complement! I was there last night for the event down stairs and I lost a cross necklace, I was wanting to know if anyone found it could you please keep it and I will come back and pick it up. It is silver and it means a lot to me. Thank you. I think you have a beautiful library, and if I lived in Anna I would visit all the time. At one time I really thought about moving here, and might still do. Would someone check down stairs and look around to see if you can find my necklace thanks again. My name is Carolyn Childs I left my email and here is my phone number as well 618-634-2629 and my cell 618-638-3928 thanks I looked around yesterday and today with no luck. We’ll keep our eyes open for it and let you know if we find it. As a child living in Anna in the ’50’s, the Treasures within the walls of the Stinson Memorial Library had a profound contribution in shaping the Sr I currently am…..many fond memories of Miss Bacon and her dedication. During an AJ Class Reunion in 2004 I was able to purchase a T-Shirt commemorating the 90th Anniversary of the Library and was looking forward to purchasing another for the 100th Year in 2014! Might this still be possible?? Appreciate any help you can offer…..Sincerely, Vivian Hello Vivian! Thanks for the fond memories! To answer your question- yes! We do have some shirts from the centennial still for sale at the library in gray and blue for ($15 short sleeve, $20 long sleeve). If you’d like me to hold one back for you just let me know the color and size. Cheers! Hello Thomas, Sorry it took me so long to visit this site again and see your gracious reply. I’d very much like to order a short sleeve shirt size Medium. If the blue is not a dark navy blue, I’ll take blue. If it is, the gray will be fine. Should I make the check payable to: Stinson Memorial Library or should I phone and give a CC #? I’ll check back for your reply within a week and many thanks again. Best! Vivian I checked our supply and unfortunately all of our short sleeved non-grey centennial shirts are sold out. We do have a long sleeve grey (with black lettering) centennial shirt left. I’ll hold it behind the desk until you are able to respond or pick it up. You can make the check payable to The Friends of Stinson Library. I’m usually around the library somewhere but if I’m not, let the circulation clerks know that there is a shirt held for you in the drawer below the bags. Cheers! Hi Thomas, Thank you so much for your courtesy, but I wouldn’t get any use of a Long Sleeved shirt. If any Short Sleeved Med or even Large should magically appear, (in any color), I’d be so grateful if you’d let me know……really appreciate your looking into this for me. Sincerely, Vivian I’ll keep my eyes open for them! Sorry about the spot of bad luck. Cheers! -Thomas Facebook page? We’ve got one. Here it is! I should probably add it up top too. Thank you! I have liked the page! Hello Thomas, Really appreciate your efforts…..if its meant to be for me to have one, one will appear somewhere. It’s just so funny……I’ve been wearing my 90th Shirt for over 10 years now, looking forward to getting the 100th in 2014. Then it completely slips my mind till a few months ago. No one to fault but myself……Best! Vivian What kind of documentation does one need to receive a library card? If you have an up-to-date state or federally issued photo ID (i.e. a driver’s license) showing that you are a resident of Union County or Shawnee School District, but not within city limits of Jonesboro or Dongola, that’s all you will need. If you do not have an up-to-date ID you will also need to bring in some sort of official mail (i.e. an electric bill, medical bill, etc.) in addition to your out-of-date ID. If you are a resident of Jonesboro or Dongola, for tax purposes and other red tape-esk stuff, you will need to obtain a Jonesboro or Dongola card (respectively) first. After that, bring in your up-to-date ID or your old ID, some official mail, and your Jonesboro/Dongola card. Do you happen to have a space where nursing mothers can pump? We do not have a dedicated space. However, we would be happy to allow you to use one of the downstairs offices if you need privacy. Does this library give free access to heritage quest or ancestry library edition to card holders? No, not at this time. Wow…..the website has certainly changed since I last used it, so I’m having trouble searching for a specific title within the Shawnee LIbrary system. I’ve looked in your “E-library” options, with no luck. I am searing for the title “Harvesting our Tears.” Could you possibly help me with that? Thanks! The site to search our library system is annp.illshareit.com. I looked around a bit and the only title I can find by that name is a book titled “Harvesting Our Tears; A Process of Grieving Our Loved Ones” by Ed D. and Susan Blum Gerding (ISBN: 1883520266) (Amazon Link) Unfortunately, it looks as if that is a tricky book to acquire. The search I performed returned no results. I was unable to find a source that supplies it. Thank you so much for your help!
